WELCOME TO THE BDSL 2025-26 SEASON

A very enthusiastic welcome, to all members, to the web site, of the Bridgend and District Snooker League. It is not known when the original Port Talbot Snooker League was set up, however,
it progressed to a competitive association comprising of three league divisions. Teams from Port Talbot, Bridgend, Ogmore, Garw and Llynfi Valleys participating. Presentation nights were always a
great success. Over a period of time interest in the sport diminished but stalwarts maintained the league in the vicinity of Bridgend. On the 27th September 2019 the league officially changed the
name to Bridgend and District Snooker League. The site will keep up- to -date information on all aspects of the league and hopefully this will encourage its use. Members will be able to communicate with other members in a more direct manner. Please encourage everyone to make use of this site.

CURRENTLY, ON HOME MATCHES, THE LEAGUES STRUCTURE IS AS FOLLOWS:
HOME TEAM BREAKS EVERY MATCH
HOME TEAM REFEREES EVERY MATCH

THE SEC FINDS THIS TO BE LESS OF GAME ETHIC, AND PROPOSES THE FOLLOWING:
HOME TEAM BREAKS FIRST GAME, THEN ALTERNATE BREAKS.
HOME TEAM REFS FIRST GAME, THEN ALTERNATE REFS.

MOTION 2
CURRENTLY THE LEAGUES STRUCTURE IS:
TEAMS THAT ARE UNABLE TO FIELD A SIDE OF 5, CAN COMPLETE A FIXTURE WITH A MINIMUM OF 3 PLAYERS, UTILISING "RULE 3" OF THE LEAGUES "LOCAL RULES",
SEE ALSO "RULE 4b" OF THE "LOCAL RULES".

AFTER NUMEROUS CONVERSATIONS WITH VARIOUS INDIVIDUALS OF THE LEAGUE, THE SEC. HAS DECIDED TO PUT FORWARD A MOTION TO THE AGM AND ITS DELEGATES OF 2026-27,
THAT TEAMS WHO CANNOT FIELD A SIDE OF 5, WILL FORIET THE FRAMES IN A BID TO MAINTAIN FAIRNESS OF THE LEAGUE.
SEEING ISSUES ARISE WITHIN THE LEAGUE, INDIVIDUAL PLAYERS HAVE PUT FORWARD THEIR CONCERNS THAT THERE ARE TEAMS UTILISING THIS RULE TO ENHANCE THEIR CHANCES OF WINNING MATCHES.

PLEASE UNDERSTAND THAT NO NAMES WILL BE BROUGHT INTO DISPUTE TO LESSEN THE LIKELYHOOD OF FRICTION BETWEEN PLAYERS AND OR TEAMS IN THE LEAGUE.

MOTION 3
HANDICAPS
THE LEAGUES HANDICAP SEC HAS PUT FORWARD A MOTION FOR DISCUSSION AT THE AGM ALSO

THE MOTION IS AS FOLLOWS:
1, KEEP CURRENT HANDICAPS
2, ABOLISH CURRENT HANDICAPS ALL TOGETHER
3, KEEP HANDICAPS, BUT REDUCING RANGE TO MAXIMUM OF -14 AND A MAXIMUM OF +14
